Indiana Blood Center stands as one of only two non-hospital healthcare institutions in the state to be active members of the Indiana Hospital Association. As such, Indiana Blood Center engages with hospital administrators at IHA district meetings, remains current on industry trends through IHA publications and benefits from the organization’s ongoing efforts at the Indiana Statehouse and with the American Hospital Association in Washington D.C.
The global voice in transfusion medicine and cellular therapies, AABB is driven by a mission to optimize patient and donor care safety by advancing the science and practice of transfusion medicine and cellular therapies. Indiana Blood Center is an Institutional Member of the organization, confirming the commitment to adhere to international best practices while ensuring a stable, adequate blood supply for member hospitals. The Specialist in Blood Banking program at Indiana Blood Center is accredited by the AABB.
ABC represents the more than 70 independent blood agencies in the United States. Indiana Blood Center is the largest independent blood center in Indiana and in the top 20 nationally, distributing more than 150,000 components each year.
Organized in 1980, ISABB is an educational network among individual blood bankers and institutional blood banks in the state of Indiana. The mission of ISABB is to promote and foster the exchange of ideas, materials and the dissemination of information relating to transfusion medicine and its technical methodology through education, publicity and/or research. Indiana Blood Center supports ISABB through Institutional membership, hosting educational events and service of our employees as Officers, Board Members and Committee participants.
