In addition to serving as the largest independent blood agency in the state, Indiana Blood Center coordinates the Be The Match bone marrow registry in Indiana. With more than 10,000 patients in the U.S. diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses every year that could be treated with a bone marrow transplant, the need for more people to join the registry is greater than ever. The steps to join the Be The Match Registry include completing a simple health history form and swabbing the inside of a cheek.
Donate Life Indiana is an alliance of agencies that exist to save and enhance lives by registering organ, eye and tissue donors through the Indiana Donor Registry. Established in 1998, Donate Life Indiana is the state affiliate for Donate Life America. More than 1,500 patients in Indiana are currently awaiting a life-saving organ or tissue transplant.
