The Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Blood Center hosted the first-ever blood drive challenge in 2009, an invitational with nearly 70 organizations. The fun, spirited, friendly competition pitted organizations from 11 categories among their industry peers to see which could attract the most blood donors. The groups benefitted by giving back to the community while employees, members, students and participants rallied behind the common cause in the hopes of beating out the competition.
Participating organizations are listed below. The winning organizations, marked in bold, earned an appearance by the Colts mascot Blue or Colts cheerleaders or a Vince Lombardi Trophy visit.
