Blood Shortage Contributes to Maternal Mortality in Ghana

About 50% of maternal mortalities in Accra, Ghana, resulted from the unavailability of blood for transfusion required by pregnant women, said Tetteh Carboo, manager of donor services at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Blood Bank.
