Employment Requirements

Benefits

Medical Plan: Full-time associates are offered a choice of two medical plans (traditional or consumer reimbursement plan). Associate contribution required. Coverage begins the first of the month following 90 days of employment. Spouse coverage: if your spouse is employed and has medical coverage available to them through their employer, they cannot be covered under IBC’s medical plan as primary coverage.

Dental Plan: Included with medical plan offered to full-time associates and may not be purchased individually. Preventative plus $1,000/person/year.

Vision Plan: Included with medical plan offered to full-time associates and may not be purchased individually. $300/person/year reimbursement for exams, glasses, or contacts.

Flexible Spending Accounts: Associates may participate in medical or dependent care accounts.

Life Insurance and AD&D: Provided at 1 x your base annual salary to all associates by Indiana Blood Center the first of the month following 90 days of employment.

Short-term Disability: Provided to full-time associates by Indiana Blood Center after 1 year of service. Pays part of your salary after a 14 calendar day waiting period. Payment amount is based on years of service.

Long-term Disability: Provided to full-time associates by Indiana Blood Center after 1 year of service. Pays 66 2/3 of your salary if you cannot work due to a medical reason after six months.

Additional Insurance: Full-time associates may elect additional coverage at their own cost. Supplemental life, dependent life and voluntary AD&D insurance for associate and/or dependents is available the first of the month following 90 days of employment.

Paid Time Off (PTO): PTO accrual starts immediately upon hire date and may be used after 90 days of employment. Non-exempt (hourly) associates start at approximately 3 weeks per year. Exempt (salary) associates start at approximately 4 week per year. Accrual increases after 5 years of service.

Paid Holidays: 6 major holidays per year. Eligible upon hire date.

401(k)/Profit Sharing: Associates may contribute pre-tax dollars to a retirement account. 100% company match up to first 4%. Profit sharing of 2% contributed by IBC. Associates are eligible upon hire date and fully vested after 6 years.

Tuition Assistance: After 6 months of service, full-time associates may apply for tuition assistance. Reimbursement is 80% of tuition and books with a grade of C or higher. Associates may not take more than six credit hours per semester and program must be related to current or future position at IBC.

EAP: Employee Assistance Program available to all associates through St. Vincent Hospital.

Donor Incentive Program: 2 PTO hours are given for each unit of blood donated by the associate or a new donor referral by the associate.

Wellness Benefits: Flu shots, onsite mammograms, health screenings, Weight Watchers, fitness reimbursement program.
