Indiana Blood Center lives a daily mission to supply blood and blood components to Hoosier patients in need at more than 60 Indiana hospitals. We rely on volunteer donors who give selflessly throughout our 9 donation centers and extensive mobile donation operation.
Beyond recruitment, collection, testing, processing, labeling and distribution of blood components, Indiana Blood Center supports Indiana patients by performing specialized testing in our HLA/DNA and Immunohematology Reference Laboratories. Our specialty labs enable us to supply the right blood to the right patient at the right time, even when rare components are required. We support organ transplants through specialized blood typing and perform relationship testing for paternity and immigration cases.
Indiana Blood Center also coordinates the Be The Match Registry in Indiana. Formerly known as the National Marrow Donor Program, the national database matches donors with patients around the world in need of a bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) transplant.
Our dedicated staff of more than 420 technicians, administrators and blood professionals performs not just a job, but a community service on a daily basis. At Indiana Blood Center, we believe blood is life, and strive every day to serve as good stewards of this most precious of gifts.
Indiana Blood Center is a non-profit community service organization licensed by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Indiana State Department of Health, and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).
