Why do you donate?

The reason I donate is simple. It is the easiest, fastest, cheapest way to help someone in need. I don't do it for myself, I don't do it for anyone I know. I do it for the person that would otherwise die from something as simple as blood loss. There is no reason every elligible donor can't take 20 minutes out of their day every 3 months to help someone in need. I am trying to put myself through school so donating money is not viable. I work full time and go to school full time so volunteering somewhere is not an option either. But this, I know this helps someone truly in need. I would donate every week if I could. It is quick, painless, free and usually fun! The staff at Indiana Blood Center are great people and fun to talk to!

What is unique about your story?

I have been donating since I was in high school. I didn't know anybody that needed blood and I still don't. I do it simply because I can.
