Tyler Genneken was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2006. He was unable to find his own match for a bone marrow transplant that could have saved his life. However, because of Tyler’s amazing spirit and unselfish nature he strongly encouraged everyone around him to join the Be The Match bone marrow registry so that no other child would have to suffer as he had.
After a 40-month battle with this horrible cancer, he died in the arms of his parents at only 14 years of age. Today, over 3,500 donors have stepped forward and joined the registry because of Tyler’s influence in their lives. Thirteen of those volunteer donors have actually gone on to match a patient, donate their own precious marrow, and save a life.
This is just the beginning of Tyler’s Legacy! His dream was to add over 10,000 donors to the registry. Please make Tyler’s dream a reality by supporting Be The Match and help others like Tyler beat cancer.
Thousands are diagnosed each year with leukemia and 70 other life-threatening diseases in which a bone marrow transplant is the only cure. These patients turn to Be The Match and the National Bone Marrow Registry in hopes of finding a match and receiving a bone marrow transplant.
The total cost to add members to this life saving registry is $100. By asking 10 people to sponsor you for $10 each, you would raise $100, which would cover adding one new person to the bone marrow registry. You have the power to save a life.
